One of his few internal monologues is his stating that Guts was the only person to make him forget about his dream. Gus almost invites David to share a $5,000 bottle of wine with him, but he soon remembers who he is. You know, generally-speaking, having close friends of the same gender doesn't mean you're gay or bi. He might have acquired a taste for men in light of these experiences, even if it was a warped one.

The most telling signs of Griffith's feelings for Guts come from how far he went out of his way for him.

Gus is almost always stoic and undemonstrative. He helped Guts recover after mortally wounding him, claimed him in a duel, made battle plans with Guts' personality as a factor, assigned him to special missions, and personally defended him from Zodd. He is genuinely happy to be here and discuss wine and travel with David.

With ‘Better Call’ ending soon, this is likely the only affirmation we are to get about Gus’ sexuality.

Besides the special treatment he gave him as a Band of the Hawk member, he expressly jeopardized his goals because of him. As he tells Charlotte at the fountain, he doesn't view his mercenaries as his friends, because a true friend has to be his equal. Love is much more likely to do that than friendship, no matter how deep.

Arguments Against Griffith Loving Guts

Detractors of the "Griffith loves Guts" theory believe it's a shallow or misguided reading of their relationship.

Their dynamic constantly shifts as they continue to change each other as people. This could be called love in Griffith's twisted sense of the idea.

So Does Griffith Love Guts or Not?

Part of what makes Griffith's true feelings so hard to determine is how ambiguously they were presented. In doing so, he also jeopardized the dream he'd been working on for so long.

Griffith's relationship with Guts could also be one of establishing dominance, at least as it progressed.

Griffith's feelings towards Guts are ambiguous, and that's on purpose. And, needless to say, Griffith never shows any romantic disposition towards Guts when they're together (physical or emotional).

So why the ambiguity then? Im quite bad at interprating romance. By the time Guts was ready to leave the Band of the Hawk, Griffith reasserted that Guts was his and would have to duel for his freedom; this was a callback to when Griffith won their first duel and declared ownership over Guts.

So it's all a mess, but you'll notice there's no "love" listed in there.
